Group members roles

  • Filming Camera- Sophie Jansen, Voke Oyeye
Myself and Voke took the responsibility to film our music video, as I had experience with the video camera we used we thought this was a good idea. I have had to have practise however before we start filming so I am aware of all its functions and angles.

  • Directing- Victoria Gordon

Vicky has the responsibility of positioning the actors and overseeing the acting, if she can see that something needs to be changed in shot she will tell the actors to do so.

  • Acting- Emily Fry and Jake Verlander
Emily Fry is the female protagonsit and Jake Verlander is the male protagonist, all other characters in our music video will be from the general public.
  • Editing- Emily Fry with support from Victoria Gordon
Emily Fry and Victoria Gordon will be editing as they have had experience with the animatic in final cut pro.

Risk Assessment

Before we started filming, Emily conducted a risk assessment for our group. I believe this is a very efficient way of outlining the risks involved so all group members are aware.

Furthermore it gives us a reminder of the high risks that are involved for example the camera being stolen. This is all evidence of our planning before shooting.

Final Animatic

Our final Animatic

How did we create our animatic?

- Draw storyboard frames- firstly with pencil then bold black pen to enhance the photo

-Individual pictures were taken from a camera

-Uploaded onto our computer

-Placed into photoshop and edited using brightness and contrast to further enhance the framing

-Import the photos into the editing programme- Final cut pro

- Place each image into the time line and cut the length of it

- Place our music "state of flux" into the audio time line

- Effects and transitions added- overlays, earthquake, fade in/out

-Export onto a video uploading programme

-Embed into our blogs

Storyboard

Why are we doing an animatic?

Before we start filming we are planning the process towards our final animatic video. We are going to do this so we can get an overall image of what our music video will look like. Also, none of us have used final cut to edit videos before so it is almost a learning platform for us before the real thing.

We all had a go at the programme and I started the editing however Vicky seemed to do very well in the editing therefore herself and Emily were in charge of the editing part.

In the process, Emily and myself were the ones that come up with the ideas and put the narrative together, then Vicky and Voke were the artists of the group so they took charge of drawing each scene then taking photos of it. Then I edited the photos so they were up to the correct brightness and exposure, in photoshop and after that they were ready for uploading into final cut!

Here is a grab shot of the editing done in photoshop before uploading into final cut.

Here is a picture taken of Vicky in the process of editing the animatic...

This image below is a grab of the small part where we edit the pictures to go in sync with the music:

This is our first photo we did, it is of Jake coming out of Camden walking up the stairs with the sign above him. This picture has not been edited and adjusted in photoshop yet.

This is an image of Victoria in the process of editing our animation and actually get used to Final cut, using different tools and finding different transitions such as "the earthquake" to create our music video.

Visiting our location

Visiting our location...

Before going to actually view our Location, I thought it was a good idea to plan where we are going to go and how we are going to get there. We wanted a clear agenda before visiting our filming place.

Therefore, Voke and myself put together an agenda whilst Vicky and Emily were editing our animatic.

We put together key images of camden that we wish to visit when going there. The pictures show the station, camden lock, an alleyway and the underground. We have put ideas around the images to why we want to visit these places and how we are going to use the locations in our music video.

Here is a close up of the agenda, showing camden situated on the map and the nearest train we have to get there.

We thought is was necessary we planned where we wanted to go in our to find the best filming spot, I shall give a post update when we have actually visited the location and taken pictures ourselves, ready for filming!!

UPDATE

Cast

CAST MEMBERS

Jake Verlander- Male Protagonist
Age? 17 years old

Clothing when filming? We hope Jake will dress in skinny jeans, a hoodie and a print t-shirt which links in to our genre indie. Our character also has sweeping hair which is very popular amongst our target audience therefore will appeal to them. Furthermore we hope that this quirky fashion sense has an urban electro vibe to it which is very much similar to our song.
We want jake to channel confusion, despair which leads to loneliness and aggression when filming. This will accumulate throughout the process which eventually leads to the male becoming delusional about the obsessive girl.

Emily Fry- Female obsessed character

Aged: 17 years old
Clothing when filming? We want Emily to be recognizable when in her clothes as this will highlight to the characters and audience that her presence is key to the plot of the narrative. We want her however to look delusional and abnormal in order to create the sense of fear and isolation for the male protagonist.
She will need to show emotions of determination and we will use her as the catalyst to the males state of aggression and despair

Inspiration

Inspiration

I thought it was a good idea to do a blog post on where our inspiration has come from, It has come from very different things from previous bands to group members ideas.

Use of overlays

In our research and planning all the group really liked the idea of overlays within our music video. We hope this will show the state of flux and will work greatly with our fast past editing. We have taken inspiration from Rhianna and Pixie Lott and their continuous use of overlays.

In the video "All about tonight" Pixie Lott, I love the use of overlays in the overall video it gives the video shape and the sequence moves gracefully. Despite our use of fast editing I would really like to achieve this look and think it will work very well with our song.

Another example of this is Rhianna- Russian Roulette. The second shot of her with here hands masking her face is a similar image we wish to create in our music video, in the chorus with the strobe lighting I believe this looks very intriguing and gives the atmosphere we are looking for.

Use of holding up signs

An idea within the group came up suggesting that we should hold up signs with bold words being read out, this inspiration was taken from a few iconic videos such as Dirty little secret- All American Rejects, How to save a life- The fray and Ugly by the sugababes.

All these bands have used signs within their videos to captivate the audience, which we hope to do in our video. We want to do this with the lyrics "State of flux" and holding up wanted posters.

Our main theme of obsession/losing control/stalker

We wanted to create something evolving around a theme in our music video and we got inspiration from the lyrics and also other influential music artists. We looked a similar indie music videos and films and realised that the use of an obsessive character is very much conventional and well used. We were very fond of this idea and thought we could put our on perspective upon it and create a very ominous atmosphere.

This film is called "Twilight" and part of it captures a girl running through crowds from the vampire James, we gained inspiration from this especially with the scene where she keeps imagining seeing him whilst surrounded by mirrors. This helpless atmosphere is what we are trying to create.

This is a montage of images I put together in photoshop to show where our inspiration came from with the stalker/paranoid state of the character. We looked at Ed Sheeran- Lego House then at Example ft Laidback luck- Natural disaster and both videos had two male protagonists, one was racing with emotions, one which was paranoia and the other video showed an obsessed stalker to a star- similarly to Stan- Eminem.

Also, I loved the mise-en-scene within Example's video, with the guy in the hoodie with skinny jeans, we hope to achieve this look and atmosphere in our music video.

Character we want to create

The character we are hoping to create has been very much based around the artist Plan B, his rnb edge yet indie vocals are what we very much like. Also, image below is what we hope to replicate. The use of a sigarette gives the egde to the character.

Bloc Party

An Insight into our band Bloc Party...

Our band is Bloc Party therefore think it is essential to explore the band in order to gain inspiration and try and present the atmosphere in the video. Bloc party is a british indie baned with Kele Okereke as the lead vocalist. The lead guitarist is Russel Lissack and Gordon Moakes on the bass guitar.

Here is a picture I put together and edited in photoshop, as you can see they are very much the stereotypical indie band. With their clothing and body language. Furthermore, on stage they are very much about lighting, with strobe lighting and different colours to captivate the atmosphere and enhance the Bloc Party experience.

Here is a interview I found from Dummy.com the online 21st century music site which gives news, videos and interviews.

In this interview it gives a great insight into the band. In our music video we are running on the themes of vulnerability and despair and this is exactly what Bloc party wish to achieve in their music. Furthermore, they claim that the their songs always occur between two people- which is what we wish to achieve with our video of our actors Jake and Emily.

Also, we wanted to steer away from the stereotypical break up music videos and Bloc party actually reinforce this saying "It isn't just about the end of a relationship".

Our video is about the mental state of someone being obsessive and stalking believing they are in a relationship.

Lead guitarist also quotes:

This image will definitely be created in our music video, we hope to create the image that for Emily the hardest thing is she can not recognize that something is not there. It builds the theme of unrequited love which we wish to displays with the girls unstable state of love towards lead character Jake.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere we wish to create is a state of confusion and actual flux. As you can see, this is a clip from Bloc Party performing flux live and their use of strobe lighting is very much a signature of their band, we hope to create a house style and to achieve this we will use strobe lighting with fast pace editing.

Discussion for Storyboard

Here is a short audio of a discussion involving the planning of our media video from Emily Fry and Myself.Whilst Vicky and Voke were drawing our storyboard we continued to structure the sequence and this shows how our plans came together within the process to our animation.

Storyboard 1

This is an image taken of all members of the group when we were planning our storyboard and drawing it scene by scene. It was mine and emilys job to come up with the music videos ideas and time it in sync with the music. It was Voke and Vickys role to draw the images and take pictures of it them in order to work on our animatic in final cut.

Iconography 2- Fashion elements

Before filming or even planning, I thought it was essential that we insure our actor/actress has the correct fashion that corrosponds in sync with our genre- Indie.

I have already carried out research into our target audience, however I thought it made sense to do a posting on the clothing we want our actors to wear. So, I looked at all my friends fashion sense and spotted if any were the stereotypical indie, I found two people that fitted our vision perfectly so I took a photograph of them to display this. I think it is essential we get this part correct in our research in order to successfully appeal to our target audience and also create an indentity for our actor. Looking at my research within indie genre, they are very much known for their sweeping hair and tattoos on their slevles, I believe this photo shows this exactly.

In our music video, we hope to use similar people and believe that their look is very essential in order to create this identity. Also, they have to look the part, without this it could seem a little amateur-like which we definitelty do not want to achieve in our final cut.

Moodboard

Moodboard construction

Our Moodboard- The process and final piece.

We thought it was a good idea to do a moodboard where we would come as a group and put all of our ideas for our music video on a piece of A3. This capitvates our creativity and also the depth of research we have gone into in creating our music video for our genre and target audience. I have taken a couple of close ups of the moodboard so it is easier to analyse. Firstly the first picture simply shows the lyrics and the words and pictures surrounding it, we believe it was essential for our lyrics to be part of it as this is the focal point to our ideas. Futhermore, the next photo is a demonstration of the themes/genre we have picked, the picture shows drug dealing, desperation, indie characters and location. It is essential we did this in order to see our ideas on a big image- this will help visualize our music video as well as bring in additional ideas thought up along the way.

Conclusion of moodboard

We thought it was a good idea to place pictures of location, the type of people we wanted and the overall themes and then discuss it on our blog posts. The moodboard places together many different aspects and also conveys all our ideas as a group. We thought it looked very creative even if it did take a while to piece together. What is important however it that our vision is becoming reality and our moodboard definitely helped his.

Copyright Letter

COPYRIGHT LETTER ACCEPTANCE

Before using our chosen song, Bloc party- Flux we had to ask permission to use it due to copyright. We emailed info@empire-managament.co.uk as we could not personally contact the producer Paul Epworth. We have requested to use the song however without this request our use of the song would not be law abiding. We hope to hear response from Empire management.

UPDATE
We received a reply from Empire management however they told us to contact "Wichita Recordings" as they were the publishers of the song and would be able to give us a reply. They said "You will need to get in touch with Bloc Party's publishers, Best wishes". Therefore I went directly to their website under contact.

UPDATE
Unfortunately, Wichita were unable to give us a response however advised us to speak to hannah.neaves@umusic.com and we are awaiting a reply from them.

FINAL UPDATE
Within 10 minutes of sending the email to hannah.neaves@umusic.com we received a reply: (This is a screenshot from a blackberry)

Now we have been given the go-ahead we can now use our chosen song freely !! :)

Putting everything together...

Below I have created a prezzi moodboard which puts together all my ideas and mentions the target audience and location:
(created by myself)

Monday 3 October 2011

Jarrett Fijal- Editor.

JARRETT FIJAL- THE EDITOR
When researching and planning our music video within editing I came across a well-known editor named "Jarrett Fijal". Firstly I found out the MTV video music award for best editing. In 2009 and 2010 he won best editing award for Lady Gaga Bad romance and Beyonce's famous Single Ladies video.
"Jarrett's unassuming demeanor belies his exceptional editing, seen on some of the most notable music videos of the past decade, his abilities to bring out the full potential in a project spans across all genres and styles".

BEYONCE- SINGLE LADIES
This is a phenominium of a music video that has won many awards for its editing, routine and overall performance. In terms of editing it works greatly with the pace of music and shape of sequence. It is shaped via pan shots- The camera keeps panning around the dancers to emphasize and show detail to their routine. An example of that is at 0.23 when the shot changes into pan to show the 3 dancers. Zoom in shots of Beyonce are also frequently used to aid promotion of the artist- an example of this is at 0.49.

COMPOSITION- Rule of thirds is used at 1.04 which shows that Beyonce is privileged by the camera.

BAD ROMANCE- LADY GAGA

The video initiates with a fade in and gradual zoom with close ups of the artist as well as light sources to create the start of the performance. The transitions are very quick and abrupt however the pace of the music is upbeat and fast therefore this works well. There are many zoom in medium shots that transitions into zoom in close ups throughout the video which create effect and bring us closer to the artist. The pace of editing is rather fast and quite disorientated however this works well with the strange performance and narrative.

Below is an image of Jarrett Fijal and the selection of music videos he has edited.

Editing in music videos

E D I T I N G
Editing is an extremely important part of creating our music video, and in whole an important part of any music video being made. The transitions, pace of editing and lengths of shots all contribute greatly to the success of the video. I shall discuss the style created within the video, who is privileged in the shot and manual dexterity within my genre.
"The important thing to remember is that the purpose of editing is to reduce the source material down to a more manageable size and to try and create a narrative of the events you have captured". This source was taken from http://music.guardian.co.uk/intel/story/0,193046,700.html. I believe it is a fantastic quote that brings the importance of editing into perspective. It is necessary that we capture enough footage at the beginning and end of each shot so we can use it efficiently and effectively. Furthermore the guardian claims "use cuts from one shot to the next, with only perhaps the occasional dissolve". This piece of advice is trying to show that you need to maintain professionalism whilst editing, it can be seen as amateur-like or clumsy if all you use is cross dissolves throughout, therefore uniqueness is key.

WHAT TO DO
1. All edit systems work better if there is spare footage at the end or the beginning of each shot that is being used.
2. Always shoot at least 2 takes of the shot you want.
3. Shoot plenty of angles, make sure that most angles cover the entire song. If you do not shoot enough angles of the whole song, the final edit of the video might be too slow.

WHAT NOT TO DO
1. Avoid jump cuts.
2. Don't use too many cross dissolves.
3. Remember the pace of the music, it needs to correspond with the pace of the editing or it could look clumsy.

I thought it was a good idea to brainstorm the concept of editing, I did this by hand in order to put all my ideas together. From the diagram below you can see that I looked at cuts, dissolves/cross fades, fades, wipes, the shape of the sequence and the pace of the editing. I believe these are a few important factors when researching into editing a music video.
The general use of straight cuts and fast edits creates continuity to the video, as well as linking to the upbeat house style of indie music.

EXAMPLE:KINGS OF LEON- PYRO.

This video helped me greatly when looking at the editing of indie music videos, it proved it could go from one extreme to the other. With indie video's we normally associate the editing with fastness, jump cuts and disorientation. However, the music video for "Pyro- By Kings of Leon" challenges this perspective. The video initiates with a fade in which then goes into a gradual zoom. In the first few seconds there are no cuts and the pace of the music is relatively slow- reinforced by the editing. However, unconventionally the pace of the editing becomes even slower which doesn't necessarily reflect on the pace of the music. Consequently, the type of music is rather echo-like therefore the pace of editing would look odd if it was fast. There are smooth transitions within the video, especially when they are circling round the pub maintaining the 180 degree rule. The pace of the editing allows us to visualize with the characters used and almost see their emotions. The editing definitely corresponds with the whole atmosphere of the video and the moods upon the characters. Despite the unconventional use of editing, the scene with the band is very original to Kings of Leon's house style and shows close ups of the members with the leading vocalist being privileged within the shots. Overall, movement, cuts and transitions are very slow and this reflects on the style of music greatly.

THE FOALS- OLYMPIC AIRWAYS.

Subsequently, I decided to analyse The foals use of editing within their video of Olympic Airways. This is a very opposite video to Kings of Leon, despite the same genre therefore thought it was a good idea to understand and investigate other videos with different uses of editing. The pace of the music initiates and seems very calming with a medium shot and slow transition of a guy jumping into a river, this is a very slow motion and the pace emphasizes this. In addition, the video continues with fades outs of slowly transitioned close ups of the surroundings. This captivates almost a variety of shots which give us a insight into the narrative before the music even initiates. However, the part in which the editing changes is when the guitar solo starts, the pace quickens with many straight cuts of the festival-like atmosphere. Furthermore, in the chorus the editing becomes very unconcordinate which reflects on the music itself. Many wipes are used to show the changing of location in a geometric pattern. Wipe shots are very effective when trying to create chaos and disorientation which is a convention of an Indie music video. Towards the end of the video, it almost becomes cyclical in terms of the editing, the pace of the music slows and so does the transitions, it gives a long wide shot of balloons being left off into the sky and the pace is not tampered with to show the cycle of the video- which no fastening or slowing of speed this in my opinion captivates the moment and brings back to the start of the video.

Iconography

Iconography of INDIE- our target audience
DEFINITION:
Symbolic representation, especially the conventional meanings attached to an image or images. To start of with I thought it was best if I do a brainstorm of everything I can think of which links to the indie genre, this will help me with the narrative of my music video and bringing in the correct conventions. I looked at the mise-en-scene, fashion, music, emotions which is shown in both diagrams.

On bubblr.com I created a spider diagram which links together important aspects I found in my brainstorm below.

Brainstorm of ideas associated with INDIE.

LOCATIONS

Camden Town- Well known for its quirkyness and indie scenceters, with many piercing shops, bars and clubs. A very typical place "indie" people would hang out and night or in the day with the busy market.

Mise-en-scene

"The Indie Scenester still likes to be ahead of the game when it comes to discovering new music. They still can’t quite shake off the skinny jeans though"- http://www.uktribes.com/

The mood board below gives a great insight into the mise-en-scene of Indie artists and bands. As you can see the clothing they wear is skinny jeans and overall tight clothing which is in fact a very stereotypical representation of indie people.

Lyrical Analysis of Bloc Party Flux

I decided to analyse our chosen song and its lyrics, however I did have some difficulity due to its strange and not clear words. Conversely, I believe it is how you interpret it and the sense what builds than what it actually says. Additionally, the picture that is built up is a relationship crisis from in my opinion a male's perspective. "State of flux" is a time of change and we notice this when the lyrics go back to the past and reflecting on the situation. I believe this shows the mental state of the male and the despair he is feeling. I get an image of DESPAIR and LONELINESS from the lyrics and possible anger that has been built up.

Shortlist of songs

As a group, we came together and put forth our ideas on the songs we wanted to shortlist. We realized it was very hard to find a song that wasn't too mainstream and also correlated with our indie rock genre. We went on youtube, listened to older songs, found typical indie songs and discussed the type of song we wanted. We wanted an indie yet upbeat electro song so we could use strobe lighting and our narrative would work greatly with this.

After much discussion, we showed the possibilities to our teacher. She was not very fond of our second choice which

was the Foals Olympic airways. However, after explaining our planning for Bloc party Flux she agreed it could

work quite well. So, FINALLY after much planning and looking we have found our song!!

The next step is to analysis the lyrics and place together our narrative.

More conventions...

BLACK AND WHITE

When looking at the Indie Rock genre, most music video's seem to be placed partly or entirely in black and white. So, why is this? Some argue that it is to enhance the atmosphere and reflect on the mood that is generated from the artist or the narrative. In my opinion black and white music videos do give the proffesionalism and conventions of an indie music video and this could be an idea for our overall video. I have looked into depth at videos that use the colour contrast.

One video that we have gained much inspiration from is A team by Ed Sheeran, the narrative is about a woman prositute begging on the streets of London and her day to day routine showing despair, struggles and lonliness. Similar atributes to the ideas put forth in our project. However there is no performance based scenes in this video which is a main priority for us, furthermore the pace of the music is quite slow and acoustic like whereas we intend ours on being fast full of energy.

Another video that has caught our attention is Example- Changed the way you kissed me. This is however set in a club scene with the live band, which would be unrealistic for us due to the many restrictions however we can still gain inspiration from this.

Andrew Goodwin's theory

When planning and shooting our video we will have to consider each of these entirely to ensure our product is reminiscent of music videos today and that it too looks professional.

Music analysis- The script

Analysis of The Script

Before the worst video
The script follow the indie rock genre, which we are doing therefore I thought it was a good idea to analyse one of their videos in order to help with the planning of ours.
I am very fond of the video Before the Worst as it conveys a great performance with fantastic lighting throughout and overlays. The script- Before the worst due to its performance and narrative based video. This is definitely what we wish to achieve in our music video and the similar genres reflect this. The video starts with the lead singer simply walking through the backstage of the 02 and joining the rest of his band on the stage with an empty audiences, instantly this creates a tense atmosphere

ANALYSIS OF THE SCRIPT- NOTHING
The music video I wanted to analysize was Nothing by the script, it has a very similar narrative to what we hoped to achieve and the genre is the same therefore would help us greatly in planning our video. The lyrics are very much conventional and clear to interpret which I shall demonstrate throughout.

The scripts house style is very much similar to all the video's they have produced. Most of their videos are located in a busy town or city with the lead vocalist Danny O'Donoghue walking through crowds with a narrative as well as a performance from the band. 'Nothing' is based in Camden town London, this is the part of London we were very interested in shooting our video at, it has a very quirky style to it and well known for shooting INDIE music videos. The video initiates with an underwater shot which works very well with the pace of the music. The close up of the lead singer shows he is in a club/bar with his two band mates, the focus pull blurs the primary coloured artifical lighting in the background however has great effect. From just a few seconds in we are able to grasp the narrative, the lyrics and visuals definitely help us with this. However, there are various close ups and medium close ups of the glass filled with alcohol and the singer drinking constantly. The narrative is very much about an average guy that has recently split from girlfriend and under the influence of alcohol to block his despair, lonliness and possible regret.

The lighting throughout is made up of ambient and occasional uses of artifical, reflecting from the outside street lamps, police vechiles and flashing signs in Camden. This is what we hope to do in our video as it gives a very surreal atmopshere which clearly portays to the audience. Their is also a performance in the video this entitles Danny walking down the street singing at the camera as well as the band members playing in a very dark room and close ups of the guitar and drums being played. It is very clever how the underwater scene is filmed, the editing reflects well with the pace of the music. Furthermore, it demonstates the delusional state of the male and the risk taking attempt he has undergone in order to see his Ex partner, we are introduced to this female with overlays of her underwater.

Mise-en-scene- The band members are wearing very dark clothing which is stereoptypical to their genre, this is leather jackets, skinny jeans and baggy tops. The location also corrolates greatly with the genre as mentioned before.

"They say a few drinks will help you to forget her".

"Cause' Im shouting your name all over town!"

This is a very iconic part in camden which is used greatly to demonstrate the despair of the male, it shows his alone and his physical state before he jumps off the bridge.

"Am I better off dead
Am I better off a quitter
They say I'm better off now
Than I ever was with her
As they take me to my local down the street
I'm smiling but I'm dying trying not to drag my feet

They say a few drinks will help you to forget her
But after one too many I know that I'm never
Only they can see where this is gonna end
But they all think I'm crazy but to me it's perfect sense

And my mates are all there trying to calm me down
'Cause I'm shouting your name all over town
I'm swearing if i go there now
I can change your mind turn it all around

And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words
And she'll listen this time even though their slurred
Dialed her number and confess to her
I'm still in love but all i heard was nothing

So I stumble there, along the railings and the fences
I know if I'm face to face that she'll come to her senses
Every drunk step i take leads me to her door
If she sees how much I'm hurting
She'll take me back for sure

And my mates are all there trying to calm me down
'Cause I'm shouting your name all over town
I'm swearing if i go there now
I can change your mind turn it all around

And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words
And she'll listen this time even though their slurred
Dialed her number and confess to her
I'm still in love but all i heard was nothing

She said nothing
Oh I wanted words but all I heard was nothing
Oh I got nothing
Nothing
I got nothing
Nothing
Oh I wanted words but all I heard was nothing

Oh sometimes love is intoxicating
Oh you're coming down your hands are shaking
When you realise there's no one waiting

Am I better off dead
Am I better off a quitter
They say I'm better off now
Than I ever was with her

And my mates are all there trying to calm me down
'Cause I'm shouting your name all over town
I'm swearing if i go there now
I can change your mind turn it all around

And I know that I'm drunk but I'll say the words
And she'll listen this time even though their slurred
Dialed her number and confess to her
I'm still in love but all i heard was nothing

She said nothing
Oh I wanted words but all I heard was nothing
Oh I got nothing
Nothing
I got nothing
Nothing
Oh I wanted words but all I heard was nothing
Oh I got nothing
I got nothing
I got nothing

This is a very important medium shot within the video as this is the first time we are introduced to the girl he is talking about, it pieces together the video which we will need to achieve in our music video.

Looking at this music video what have we gained?

When analysizing The scripts' new video I absolutely loved the location of it, set in Camden with low key lighting and busy traffic around them, I believe it really worked well with their genre and the narrative was clear, illustrated by the lyrics and visuals.

I would very much like to reenact the scene with him on the bridge as I think it really worked well seeing a long shot of the male protagonist.

The location is definitely the key in this video and as a group we shall discuss Camden as a potential filming place.
